Nuerogotchi Game Guide

Everything you need to know about stats, leveling, mini-games, adventures, the shop, badges, and more.

1. Getting Started

Getting Started

When you first open Nuerogotchi you will walk through a short onboarding flow that sets up your pet and device.

Permissions

Grant access to Health (activity rings), Notifications (pet alerts), and Location (weather). All are optional but enhance the experience.

Name Your Pet

Give your pet a name (up to 16 characters). This name appears on the LCD screen and in chat messages. You can change it later in settings.

Personality

Write a custom personality or generate one with Apple Intelligence. This shapes how your pet talks and reacts. You can skip this and let the personality develop naturally.

Sound Settings

Toggle music and sound effects on or off. You can change these later in Settings.

Your Starting Pet

Every pet starts with a Beige shell and Green LCD. New colors unlock as you level up, shop, and complete adventures. Your pet begins at Level 1 in the Baby stage and will grow through three stages as you care for it.

2. Pet Care

Pet Care

Your pet has four stats that range from 0 to 100. Keep them healthy by performing five care actions using the A/B/C buttons on the device. Each action costs nothing and can be performed at any time.

Important: Hunger is inverted. A hunger value of 0 means full and 100 means starving. On the LCD, the "Food" stat displays as 100 - hunger, so a higher number is always better.

Care Actions

ActionHungerHappinessCleanlinessEnergy
Feed-30+5
Play+5+25-15
Clean+10+40
Sleep+10+50
Pet+15

Every care action also grants 5 base XP and 1 coin (before multipliers).

Stat Decay

Stats change passively over time, even when you are not playing. Decay is applied every hour:

StatChange per HourDirection
Hunger+10/hourGets hungrier (bad)
Happiness-5/hourDecreases (bad)
Cleanliness-3/hourDecreases (bad)
Energy-8/hourDecreases (bad)

If stats drop too low your pet's mood changes to Starving, Dirty, Exhausted, or Sad, and you will receive push notifications (if enabled) reminding you to check in.

3. XP & Leveling

XP & Leveling

Your pet levels up by earning XP. The amount of XP needed to reach the next level increases linearly:

XP to next level = current_level * 35
LevelXP RequiredCumulative XP
1 → 23535
2 → 370105
5 → 6175525
10 → 113501,925
20 → 217007,350
29 → 301,01515,225

The maximum level is 30.

Growth Stages

StageLevelsDescription
Baby1 – 5Your pet is small and learning. Limited adventure access.
Teen6 – 15More zones unlock. Personality begins to solidify.
Adult16 – 30Full access to all zones and endgame content.

XP Sources

SourceBase XPNotes

Mini-game win15Flat reward
Mini-game loss5Consolation XP
Daily login10 + streak bonusStreak bonus = min(streak * 5, 25)
AdventuresVariablePer-room XP based on zone (see ByteQuest)

Care Quality Multiplier

The XP you earn from care actions is multiplied based on how well you are maintaining your pet's stats:

ConditionMultiplier
All stats above 702.0x
All stats above 401.5x
Default (mixed stats)1.0x
Any stat below 200.5x

This means a single care action at 2.0x gives 10 XP instead of 5. Keeping your pet healthy is the fastest way to level up.

4. Coins & Economy

Coins & Economy

Coins (G) are the in-game currency used to buy items from the shop. There are no microtransactions — every coin is earned through gameplay.

Earning Coins

SourceCoins

Mini-game win10
Mini-game loss2
Daily login bonus3 + min(streak * 5, 25)
AdventuresVariable per room (see ByteQuest)

Daily Login Streaks

Log in on consecutive days to build your streak. Rewards scale up to a cap:

Streak DayCoin BonusXP Bonus
Day 13 + 5 = 8G10 + 5 = 15 XP
Day 33 + 15 = 18G10 + 15 = 25 XP
Day 5+3 + 25 = 28G10 + 25 = 35 XP

The streak bonus caps at +25 for both coins and XP (reached at streak day 5). Missing a day resets your streak to zero.

Spending Coins

Spend coins in the shop on food, toys, care items, accessories, eye styles, color unlocks, and elixirs. See the Shop section for full pricing.

5. Mini-Games

Mini-Games

There are 15 mini-games, three for each of the five care categories. Mini-games trigger with a 10% chance after performing a care action, or can be played from the mini-game menu.

All mini-games share these rules:

Feed Games

Catch the Snack

Food falls from the top of the screen in one of three columns. Move your catcher left (A) or right (C) and press B to chomp. Catch 5 snacks to win.

Recipe Rush

Ingredients appear on screen and you must match them to the correct recipe. Use A/B/C to select the matching ingredient before time runs out.

Food Fight

Good food and bad food fall from above. Catch the good food and avoid the bad food. Use A/B/C to pick the correct column.

Play Games

Copy Cat

A Simon-says memory game. The game shows a sequence of column highlights (left, center, right), then you repeat it using A/B/C. Each round adds one more step. Complete 3 rounds to win.

Rhythm Tap

Tap prompts appear in rhythm. Press the matching button (A/B/C) when the prompt reaches the target zone. Hit enough prompts to win.

Hot Potato

A potato bounces between columns. Use A/B/C to bounce it back before it lands. Keep it going until time runs out.

Clean Games

Bubble Pop

Bubbles appear in three columns. Press A/B/C to pop them in the corresponding column. Pop 8 bubbles before time runs out. Bubbles spawn faster as the game progresses.

Stain Scrub

Stains appear on screen. Each stain must be scrubbed 3 times by pressing the matching button. Clear all stains to win.

Sort Trash

Items fall and you must sort them into the correct recycling bin. Use A/B/C to direct each item to the right column.

Sleep Games

Don't Wake Up

Your pet is sleeping and distractions appear in one of three columns. Swat them away with A/B/C before they disturb your pet. Survive until the timer ends with at least 1 life remaining.

Sheep Count

Sheep jump across the screen. Count them and press the correct button when prompted. Accurate counting wins the game.

Lullaby

A musical pattern plays. Repeat the pattern using A/B/C in the correct order. Similar to Copy Cat but with a soothing theme.

Love Games

Heartbeat

A heart bounces up and down. Move the target zone with A (down) and C (up), then press B to hit when the heart is in the zone. Land 5 hits to win.

Pet Catch

Hearts float across the screen in three columns. Press A/B/C to catch them in the matching column. Collect enough hearts to win.

Tickle Spot

A spot lights up on one of three zones. Press the matching button (A/B/C) quickly for combo taps. Build up enough combos to win.

6. ByteQuest Adventures

ByteQuest Adventures

ByteQuest is the adventure mode where your pet explores procedurally generated dungeons, fights bosses, and earns rare loot. There are 6 zones, each unlocked at a specific level.

Stat Bonuses from Pet Condition

ConditionBonus

11. Personality System

Personality System

Your pet develops a dominant personality based on which care action you perform the most over its lifetime. The personality affects how your pet talks in chat and reacts to actions.

PersonalityTriggered By
CuriousDefault (under 10 total actions)
FoodieMost lifetime actions are Feed
PlayfulMost lifetime actions are Play
Neat FreakMost lifetime actions are Clean
SleepyheadMost lifetime actions are Sleep
CuddlyMost lifetime actions are Pet

Personality is determined by whichever care action has the highest lifetime count, but only after you have performed at least 10 total actions. Before that threshold, your pet is simply Curious.

You can also write a custom personality description during onboarding or in settings, which shapes how the AI responds in chat mode.
