Privacy Policy

Overview
Nuerogotchi is designed with privacy at its core. The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All gameplay data, chat history, and pet information is stored locally on your device.
Data We Do Not Collect
Nuerogotchi does not collect:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Usage analytics or tracking data
- Advertising identifiers
- Chat messages or AI conversation history
- Location history
- Health data history
There are no user accounts, no login, no registration, and no backend servers.
On-Device AI Processing
All AI chat features are powered by Apple Intelligence and processed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework. No data is sent to any third-party AI service. Your conversations with your pet never leave your device. No text, personal data, or conversation history is sent to any external server, including ours.
To provide a personalized experience, the following data is used as context for on-device AI processing:
- Pet name, stats (hunger, happiness, cleanliness, energy), and mood
- Pet personality and bond level
- Activity data from Apple Health (steps, exercise minutes, stand hours, calories) — only if you grant Health permission
- Current weather conditions from Apple WeatherKit — only if you grant Location permission
- Recent interaction history (last 3 interactions)
- Custom personality text (if you write one)
All of this data stays on your device and is processed locally by Apple Intelligence. None of it is transmitted to any external server or third-party service.
Device Permissions
Nuerogotchi may request the following permissions, all of which are optional:
Location
Used to fetch current weather conditions via Apple WeatherKit. Your location is sent only to Apple's weather service to retrieve conditions. Nuerogotchi does not store, log, or transmit your location anywhere else.
Health (HealthKit)
Used to read activity ring data from Apple Health to enhance the companion experience. This data is read locally and never transmitted off your device. Nuerogotchi does not write to HealthKit.
Notifications
Used to send local push notifications when your pet's stats are low (hungry, tired, etc.). Notifications are generated entirely on-device and do not involve any external push notification service.
Third-Party Services
Nuerogotchi uses the following Apple frameworks that may communicate with Apple's servers:
- Apple Intelligence: On-device AI processing. No data is sent to Apple for this feature.
- Apple WeatherKit: Fetches current weather conditions based on your location. Weather data powered by Weather. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and Apple Weather Legal Attribution.
Nuerogotchi does not use any other third-party SDKs, analytics services, crash reporters, or ad networks.
Data Storage
All game data — pet stats, inventory, chat history, settings, and progress — is stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms. If you delete the app, all data is permanently removed.
If you use iCloud backup on your device, app data may be included in your device backup per your iOS settings. This is managed by Apple and subject to Apple's privacy policy.
Children's Privacy
Nuerogotchi does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no social features, and no external links within gameplay.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
